Willys Jeep CJ

Anything after this era--still the basic, gnarly little postwar unit--missed the industrial, quick-fix, bolted-together aesthetic of the original. I think this--maybe a 1960?-- still has that original essence of jeep. Caught it in Colorado Springs a while back.

  1. It might be a '60 because the older design was held over for military versions. But the more modern looking (rounded fender) CJ-5 was available as the Willys street version by the later 50s. I had a '57 CJ-5, and it had top-of-windscreen wipers, vacuum operated & a 6 volt electrical ... the one pictured here looks to have the more modern 12v and electric wipers. Early 60s if that's the case, but not a CJ-5
