1961 Chevrolet Apache 10, Colorado Springs

A lot of Apaches turn up on AL. Our friend Sean Wilsey owns a legendary one that commutes regularly between Brooklyn and West Texas. I learned to drive standard on an Apache while I was working on the GH Ranch, Sundre, Alberta in the early SeventiesFirst time I ever was stopped by the Mounties, eh, I was driving an Apache. Came across this one in the neighborhood east of downtown, the Springs. If you google Autoliterate Apache you'll turn up lots more.

Ford Graveyard, Marfa (Part 1)

all photographs©2014 David Branch
from David Branch, in far-West Texas:
"I have been wanting to photograph these trucks/wander around this
place for a while. I have met the fellow who owns them in passing
several times but not lingered long enough to request an invite. He traps

mountain lions for a living. He drives
a 1968 short bed F-100 4wd that has a 390, a top-shift fourspeed, 3/4
ton axles and 16in wheels. I shoulda shot that one too but you'll have
to be content with the "scraps" as it were. More than a lifetime worth
of 68-72 Ford parts and an few from other eras as well. He plans to
swap his '68 frame for a '79 3/4 ton "sometime soon." From the look of
it he has a line on a few."--DB

Gas Station to Gallery, 802 N. Nevada, Colorado Springs

This was a gas station, now a Colorado College student gallery. 802 N. Nevada Street. It's looking very Marfa-esque around here.

1950 Chevrolet 3100, Patty Jewett Neighborhood, Colorado Springs

I was biking around the Springs on a spring day---bare spring, no leaves, lots of light, dry yellow grass, southern breeze--when I came across this beauty. You have to respect a machine that's @65 years old and still going strong. The tow truck will be another post.

Ford F-2, Colorado Springs

Taking pictures on the street, you have to take what you can get, so I won't apologize for the shadows. Our friend CM has a robin's egg blue F-2 in Texas, and this survivor looks like it may have been the same color originally...
