1956 Chevrolet 3100, No. California

From Chip Lord: "Restored and like néw! Never seen one this clean, 1956 I believe.  Note the dashboard, looks like a Chevy car."

AL: we've posted several of these trucks, usually (but not always) in turquoise.

Jeep J-10

From Reid Cunningham: "Manchester NH. Yet another Jeep Pickup J-10, they must be sending out signals. Early 80's?"

AL: another J-10 posted. Puis, one autre.

Summer Car: 1966 Lincoln Continental convertible

On the block this week at BaT.  Lincolns of this era got it right. Compared to say, the '59 Lincoln Belchfire.

c 1950 Ford F1, New Hampshire

from Reid Cunningham: "Franklin, NH. Regular vehicle registration good until 2022, not antique plates, so this a regular driver for someone. Other than the wheels and a replacement bench seat from something more current, this looks to be stock. Long may it run. In the same repair lot was this late 70's, early 80's Corvette. My 12 year old thought it was exotic and deserved a picture. The sun angle was terrible so the quality is low. But I must admit as a kid born in the mid 60's, Corvette has always meant the coke bottle shape and I grow more fond of these every year. Hard to believe these are 40+ years old now."

AL: we posted this cleaned up F1 in Maine a while back and some F2's of that era in Texas and Colorado

Reliance, 1903

Designed by Nathaniel Herreshoff. 1903. Cup Defender. The design took advantage of a loophole in the Seawanhaka '90-foot' rating rule, to produce a racing yacht with long overhangs at each end, so that when heeled over, her waterline length (and therefore her speed) increased dramatically (as above!)You can see in photo below/below that LOA (201') is quite different that LWL (90').

1958 Dodge Coronet

from Chip Lord: "It’s a ’58, I believe, Coronet. The sign in the window reads: Garage needed, please text me. In Glen Park, San Francisco."

AL: we posted the Canadian version from Saskatchewan, a Dodge Regent, which is basically a Dodge front end attache to a Plymouth. We saw a couple Dodges of this era in Camden, Maine a while back. Our favorite Dodge is maybe Donald Judd's.

1997 BMW M roadster

Caught the car in Cambridge.

Kinda looks like a Buick, from the rear end...except the pipes.

1992 Range Rover

From Jonathan Welsh: First-generation Range Rovers hold a place in the hearts of off-roaders in part because they defined the luxury SUV category, with help from the Jeep Wagoneer. Launched in 1970, the original Range Rover barely changed in appearance during its production run into the mid 1990s. This one looks like a '92 or '93 model, based on the wheels and bumpers. It also has a snorkel and other back-country enhancements. We spotted it in Upper Montclair, N.J.

1968 Pontiac Parisienne 2+2

From Alex Emond. "This was in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan. I regret not taking better/ more pictures. I didn't realize until later that these puppies are pretty rare. Two door, convertible .... pretty flashy in its day. Purple too - if nothing else it adds to the alliteration potential."

1964 Studebaker Hawk

from Reid Cunningham: "Must be the week for Studebaker coupes. Amherst NH. (Sorry for the poor angles of the pictures and background, the best angle would have been the middle of the busy 4 lane road). Black leather interior an a 4 speed. The owner's son came over as I was taking pictures and we had a nice talk. It was the Studebaker 289 and a limited slip rear axle. It's been in the family since new, bought by the grandmother. I would have liked to meet her, a woman buying a manual shift, dual exhaust V8 coupe in 1964!"
