Nevada Scout

From Mike Moore, in the Nevada desert: Speaking of winter Scout projects here’s one our Nevada neighbors have been messing with for years……it comes with a bit of history:

"Hard to imagine I’ve put about 1500 miles on that front driveshaft since the rear end broke back in 2008.Well, actually it’s first task wasn’t far from that.  The rear end blew while I was helping my aunt in Humboldt Co. (Cali) harvesting you know what.  If you’ve ever been to that part of the state then you know there aren’t many grades less than 6% especially in the grow zones.  Navigating the tight switchback canyon that was her driveway came first. Then to the pavement, another 6 miles of tight downhill switchbacks.  From there a quick jaunt south on 101 to turn left for the entirety of highway 20 and, well, you know the rest from there. And now since then it’s gone from Gerlach NV to Empire, Empire to Linda Stanley’s, Stanley’s back to Empire, Empire to Portola the back way with a quick stop at Fred’s and now back home again.  Phew, that sounds exhausting! If I were a front driveshaft I definitely would have given out by now!"
