Ford F-100. Johnston Canyon, Banff, Alberta.

From Ale4x Emond, in Bnaff: "Yesterday I went for a walk up Johnston Canyon as far as the Upper Falls. When I got back down to the Bungalow Camp, I saw Bill Noke's Ford truck that was there in 1968 when I started working there. Bill was married to Stella and they had 2 sons. Tim Nokes now manages the place. That's Bill, in 1970, standing by the Esso pump. He's well into his 90's now.
Back then "the Canyon" and Castle Junction had their own dump a few miles up the road near Moose Meadows. We'd use that truck to haul garbage to the dump every other evening. Sometimes we'd watch black bears or grizzlies rooting around  That dump was shut down decades ago.
I doubt that the truck will ever get restored but I wouldn't be surprised if it started right up. The amazing thing about Johnston Canyon Bungalow Camp is that everything is the same as it was in 1968, when I started there. The cabins have new beds and maybe some of the furnishings have been upgraded, but the place is, otherwise. a time capsule. "
