You always Wanted a...

...German police car. Of course you did. You know how they maintain things. The 1982 Volkswagen Passat B2 is a retired veteran of the Baden-Württemberg P.D.  B-W is the state where VW is based. Makes sense they'd want a Passat. The car's on the block at The Market by Bonhams:
"This Passat (chassis number WVWZZZ32ZHE107593) was built in 1987 and destined for the criminal police in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, where it served until 1992. According to our information, it is one of the very few sedans supplied to the German police (almost all were station wagons and with automatic transmission, while the car we offer is equipped with a five-speed manual transmission). The engine is the 90-hp four-cylinder 1.8 litre with mechanical fuel injection that entered the Passat range permanently from the next-generation model."
-thanks to Matthew Dallet, Esq. for the heads-up. This happens to be there first Passat we have ever posted, but I think they are great cars. VW killed the brand in the US this year. Not bulky enough, not stupid enough.
