3rd Gen Ford Ranger

1997-2012. These make excellent wheelbarrow trucks. You know what we're talking about: smart sensible small (by North American standards!) utilitarian task-oriented trucks that go easy on the macho, as opposed to the swollen, chrome-crusted behemoths that grunt and swagger around the State of Maine these days and, given the price of gas, probably munch a good piece of the profit from a decent day's work. It's a North American addiction, or fate: bigger shinier dumber, always. We posit that booming gun sales and the unstoppable swelling of trucks both reflect contemporary anxiety about the nature of masculinity.
(Ranger used to be trim level on the F-150; like this 1980 Ford F-150 Ranger)
