1960 Mercury Monarch Lucerne

From Alex Emond: Just back from a week in Saskatchewan . In Gleichen, Alberta I sneaked into a back yard for a quick shot of this big Kryptonite-coloured ride–a 1960(?) Mercury Monarch Lucerrne, of all things. What the hell ? I saw the Chrysler (below) in Gleichen,  post war behemoth with a grill that makes me think of Chicago, not a village in Blackfoot country. Just a few minutes west of Gleichen was the row of retired farm trucks (below). Out to pasture ... that big Reo has to be fairly rare. Then, on the way out of town, heading east, was a mid-fifties GMC school bus. Looks like an early effort at a "camper". Has potential. It's always worth swinging off the highway to snoop around.
