Chevrolet S10, Amsterdam

from Guido Golüke, in Amsterdam: "There are few people about on the streets, and no tourists. We have got our city back to ourselves. After this enforced break from the annoying and crushing presence of all these ‘intrepid’ travellers, maybe the powers that be will come to their senses and reduce their numbers. I am not optimistic – more budget hotels are being built right now.
"The pick-up is fittingly parked in front of houses built to elevate the working class. They are called In the Blacksmith’s , In the Plasterer’s and so on."

Today is our first real spring day, and birdsong and wind in the leaves are all you hear outdoors. We are well, albeit cramped and uncertain about the finish line.
