I think that Merc may be painted "Matador Red", a FoMoCo color I liked so much I had my '60 VW cabriolet painted [first car I ever repainted]...
...except of course for brushing black primer over that '38 chevy Deluxe sedan, which was the aCTUAL first car I repainted...
