One of the great urban photographers of New York at it's best worst, in the 1970s. Langdon Clay's Cars: New York City 1974-76

1947 Studebaker M5 pickup
Saw the truck at Motorland in Arundel, Maine where it is for sale. Tell them Autoliterate sent you. This is the time of year when old metal goes into hibernation in New England so, please, if you're out there where it's dry and warm--or just dry, anyway---send us some jpegs and field notes.

1944 Chevrolet AK series
The Bison Brothers in Alberta seem to specialize in selling great old Canadian trucks to the American market. Hate to see 'em leave the True North.

1962 Dodge Dart Pioneer
You know we like plainjanes. Given the chrome and the swoops, the Pioneer is not exactly a modest car, but it was an early example of what became Dodge's hardworking un-fancy series of Darts. AL caught the car at Motorland up there in Arundel, Maine where it was for sale, listing at a not-unreasonable $5800.
And how about this very clean 1960 Dodge Matador we saw a few years back in Amsterdam, of all places?

1950 Ford F68
From Alex Emond, in Saskatchewan: Here is a pair of identical or very similar Ford trucks . They sit in nearby towns , both being " saved " until somebody decides to restore them . Not too far gone . Seems like the paint has all but disappeared , leaving that surface rust. Fifty shades of brown . I might be wrong on the year ... could be a year or two earlier . Cheers , Alex

Austin Healey Sprite
Michael Moore caught the car on the east side of San Francisco Bay. Green and yellow seem to the Sprite colors. Here's a Bug Eye

1952 Nash Ambassador
Curious that 66 years ago ads like this, aimed at the bourgeoisie, could feature some pretty radical modernist domestic architecture. In our pompous and insecure American era, the house would probably have to be a vast and Trumpish McMansion with faux columns, etc.
