1972-75 Dodge Challenger

from Reid Cunningham: "When I dropped our car off for an oil change, this was behind the garage.  72-75, 440 Challenger with an automatic.  I am usually a fan of factory wheels but these aftermarket were perfect for the car.  The pictures don't do justice to how good this car looked up close.  Muscle cars were on there way out by this time and power was down, but this would have still been an exciting experience."

AL: here's a 1972? Dodge Challenger we caught on the Maine Turnpike.

1939 Oldsmobile; 1963 Dodge D100

from Alex Emond, in southern Saskatchewan:" Driving past Gauvin Motors in Swift Current, I was surprised to see these vintage vehicles out on display & for sale. The Olds looks amazingly original and well-preserved. I see that it has the push button radio and a clock, desirable options. The upholstery looked just fine. Well-cared-for. The red truck is something you just don't see. (Oh, AL does, like this Dodge D200 we caught in West Texas. And Alex himself found this Fargo 100 in Saskatchewan a while back.) "I think that they called this style "Sweptside", and I guess that the thing to do is buy both of them–one for chores, one to drive to church."

1975 Chevrolet K10, Deer Isle, Maine.

Probably has not spent many winters on the Island, where rust is egregious. A beautifully basic plainjane of a truck.

1967 Dodge Charger (near the Pentagon)

Mathew Sheehey caught this outrageous critter in Northern Virginia: "Parked at a service station in South Arlington for most of the year. It's not on the road, and it needs some work, but it's fun to look at. I love the lines of the fastback, and the old Dodge logos."
Here's a 1966 Dodge Charger from the coast of Maine. And another '66 Charger in Alpine, Texas. And he redesigned 1970 Dodge Charger AL caught in Cambridge MA of all places. And a '73 Charger in Arizona.

Definitive Cadillac

Over several tops, and certainly one of the best-looking Cadillacs: a 1976 Eldorado convertible. Here's another, same year, also in Maine.

1993 Volvo 240 Wagon, Hoosick Falls NY

From Reid Cunningham: "This one caught my attention as I was driving through Hoosick Falls, NY.  A 93, registered up to last year.  It was in front of a junk yard for sale, so hopefully the repairs to get it back on the road aren't too serious."
This was the last year for the 240: the front-wheel-drive Volvo 850 was about to arrive. A Volvo 240 wagon, same year same color, sold for $5300 on BaT a few years back...and that was a pre-covid price. You know, by now, that here at AL we really like these stalwart cars.

1972 International Travelall

This Travelall seems so civilized and plainspoken compared to the pumped up large-calibre SUVs of today, with their bombastic names: the Armada, the Escalade, etc. We posted a 1966 C1100 Travelall for sale in Marfa a while back, and a 1968 1200 up at BaT. The truck you see here is coming up for auction at Hemmings.
