from AL: friend of ours was biking out from Lubbock, Texas a few years back. Stopped at the cafe in Slaton, Tx and overheard one rancher telling another My boy used to drive Fords but now he's gone and gotten hisself one of them Toyotes. (pr. "coyotes").

Don's Father's 1982 C20 Chevrolet

Don took it over from his father, had it tuned up in Denton, Texas then drove it out to West Texas. Got glasspacks across the border in Ojinaga. 

Light changes dramatcially in West Texas--images of the truck and of the shed were shot the same afternoon, out on Don and Valerie's Finca Once Doce.

1929? Farmboy Ford

from Alex Emond "I caught this "truck" out of the corner of my eye as I was driving north of Rockglen, Saskatchewan. Did a U turn and took these shots . Nobody was around to question so I don't know the story on this machine. It spent part of its long life in Regina. Now it's out to pasture, almost literally, Very funky . I doubt if it runs . Still , it's a joy to look at. Cheers , Alex

1959-68 are sleek years for Pontiac, in retrospect. This particular machine is on the block at B-A-T. AL has posted several 1963 Pontiac convertibles, mostly Catalinas, like this one in Texas. Here's a Bonneville in Maine that has been around a time or two. And a Canadian Parisienne. And how about this Catalina Safari wagon?

1980 GMC Rally STX van

 Hard to date these vans since they weren't much tweaked year to year. Let's call it a 1980. It was a surprise to come across such a clean specimen in the salty mudbowl of a Canadian winter in Banff. This unit looks like it spent its life somewhere dry, though there were slight outbreaks of rust around the rear wheel wells. But a beautiful and clean machine with a dazzling interior that seemed original,

1981 Chevrolet El Camino Conquista

Michael Moore saw the car + vintage Honda 50 motorbike on the Benicia jetty, in the East Bay, with weather coming in. We have posted plenty of El Caminos of all eras and from all over...maybe AL's favorite is this very clean '69 we caught in Ventura a while back. Mitsubishi Delica, Banff

You see a lot of these rugged little 4wd vans in Western Canada. We understand they are imported as used cars straight from Japan---the steering wheel is on the right. The Delica van seems anything but delicate: Japanese branding often sounds a little otherworldly to the North American ear. What the heck was a Celica, anyway? Or a Tercel? Here's a post on more Japanese imports AL spotted in Vancouver a while back.

A 327 doesn't quite live up to those wheels, but AL is very fond of this edition of Chevrolet since we still hugely regret selling a 1969 Brookwood wagon. If you ever see that wagon for sale (it was last in Ventura CA) please drop a line. Spotted this car last month at Motorland in Arundel, Maine
