Beautiful evening in southern Maine a few weeks ago. Rain showers and passing light. Lots of gleam. I stopped at Motorland in Arundel and found a herd of cars for sale... I wonder if there really were that many turquoise cars around in the Fifties? Sorry for choppy photos--the light was tough, and cars were crowded together. I love the Impala. My grandfather JJ O'Brien's (“The O'Briens is a major accomplishment” —New York Times Book Review) last car was a '61 Impala, black and white and red inside. Cool ride.
