Mansard roofs and the Deer Isle Bridge

The house looms over Deer Isle Village. They've followed the vernacular style--"big house, little house, backhouse, barn"--by building on...and on... That style of endless elongation and expansion is usually applied to Cape Cod-type cottages, not mansard-roofed villas. Love the house, probably wouldn't like the heating bill.

Crossing Eggemoggin Reach, heading back to the Sedgwick side.
