Devta Doolan: aesthetic of short wheelbase trucks

from Devta Doolan:
"Short trucks are better looking because they seem faster and more sporty than long trucks. The crew(quad) cab and extended cab represent the Disneyfication of trucks. They're  designed to compete with vans and SUV's by providing more seating space. This they do but at the expense of looking good. Of course a full size cab and a long bed is probably the most effective use of a truck. After all you can fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood or sheetrock in a full size bed while a short bed
makes that  impossible, unless you have it sticking out  sides and back.  The best-looking truck of all of course is the step side which didn't hold a lot but looked like a real truck. All trucks now are fleet sides but the short ones obviously look better than the long ones....Another aspect of the issue: the length of the bed being disproportionate to the length of the front part of the truck gives
them a powerful, ready-to-spring-forward profile"--DD
