Smoky Banff

 

Report from Alex Emond in Banff, on the wildfires burning in northern Alberta: "It has been smoky as hell for three days now . Prior to that it was like a gorgeous summer, but the news of fires up north meant that smoke was inevitable. I painted this smoky Vermilion with Mt Rundle scene last August ... today from the same spot you wouldn't see Rundle at all . The West needs rain, plain and simple.
