1937 Ford Coupe

 

From Greg Phillips: "The car was purchased unrestored in the Dakotas. It has undergone a 2 year restoration and is now in Blue Hill, Maine. Interestingly, when this car was new the Deere Isle Bridge in the background was under construction. Both the car and bridge exist as they are today because of dedicated maintenance and repair
"Without design modifications the bridge would have fallen into Eggemoggin Reach long ago as its twin, the Tacoma Narrows Bridge in Washington, did shortly after its completion. Due to that tragedy the Deere Isle Bridge was retrofitted with steel panels it's entire length which reduces stress caused by frequent high winds.
"Without its new owner's attention this coupe would likely be around as just a static reminder of great design. As I latched onto my grilled salmon sandwich the coupe was just making its way to the crest of the bridge beyond. I can't help but think the proud owner knew, even at that distance, he held the attention of at least one of us. As the coupe reached the top I heard 3 faint horn blasts and off they went into the fog."
