From David Branch in Marfa, Texas: "You're a Chevy guy, and I admit a fondness for those as well. But maybe the Ford thing runs a little deeper in me. Speaking of single-cab, 4WD American pickups. And also, the end of an era, here is my daily work truck. It's a nice shade of calamine / Band-aid that sounds unappealing but isn't. On the truck anyway. My house was that color too but I painted it. Anyway, though not a full fledged antique, at 24 years old it's getting close. Stick shift, vinyl bench seat, manual windows. Radio. No tape deck. Increasing dents. It has two gas tanks and dead empty will hold 52 gallons of gas. Which it eventually consumes. And for the most part it works for a living. Sometimes it goes on adventures."
