The idea of Dinky Toys reaching across an ocean and a continent to end up on the shelves of tiny five-and-dimes in obscure American suburbs [La Canada still had dirt sidewalks then] in the fifties continues to amaze me.…of course they’re not all Dinks, either, and some [as above,] predate me going to that five and dime

"These little cast lead deals were a nickel, came on a piece of printed cardboard, I think. U.S. made. The carhaulers were above my paygrade back then;


"…coupla Tootsietoys from Chicago U.S.A. there in the middle....Matchbox compressor truck; 

"…Dinky ambulance [quite antique] and Jeep. Most of these are not survivors of MY [+ my younger brothers’] childhoods, but gathered later from various sources. I’ve more or less quit doing that [TOO much stuff] but my bro occasionally finds some gem in a European flea market and passes it on…"--MSM
