Somerville, Mass.

Prospect Hill, Somerville
It wouldn't be correct to call Somerville an Outer Borough of Cambridge. It's an independent city and in its way just as various as Cambridge. Historically working class and significantly Italian-American, though very diverse now. Davis Square is very hip and feels more like Harvard Square in its heyday than Harvard Square does.
Somerville does not do sedate, or magnificent: there's no neighborhood there like Brattle Street in west Cambridge. Some handsome big houises up on Prospect Hill, though. We biked all over Somerville last weekend and one of the many things the city has is hills.  Lots happening in Somerville. Almost, but not quite, reasonable rents.
