Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?

I like maps, all kinds. Especially road maps. Always have. Charts, too. In the last few years I've been collecting all sorts of atlases, which are usually giveaways from library book sales. No one wants them anymore. 

The best roadmap for New England/Northeast/Quebec/ Maritimes, my heartland, is from Switzerland: Hallwag's Map #4. I first saw it on the wall at the Charlton Rest Stop on the Mass Pike.
It's clear and beautiful and presents the road net in a way that makes sense and is easy to read.
My favorite chart? That's easy. Stonington to Mount Desert Island I use it every day.

Because the rocks move, I swear they do.
