Trucks, cars, highways, landscape, good writing. "You cannot travel on the path, before you have become the Path itself."

International Harvester R-140
from Colin Washburn: Spotted this little green beauty in Bishop, Ca. FOR SALE. Haven't a clue what year it is. Exterior VERY clean. Paint looks fresh. Interior gutted, waiting for someone to camperize it.( Sure as heck looks a lot better than all the rental RV'S and big, spendy buses I've been following the past 3 days!).

Big Pink: the 1958 Chevrolet Bel Air
Saw Big Pink in Cookshire, Quebec, which is one of the Eastern Townships of la belle Province. The Appalachian Mountains, which start in Alabama, end up rolling through this part of Quebec on their way up to the Gaspé Peninsula. I always though the '58 much more appealing than the famed Tri-Five Chevys. This baby could use some help, but the lines are wonderful.

International L-120
from Alex Emond: "Restored daily driver, in Eastend, Saskatchewan. Tinted glass. This truck probably never goes father than Shaunavon, a half hour east. It'll just keep running for another 60 years . Cheers , Alex"

Montréal vernacular.
Yeah I know, it's a truck blog. But I've been on my bike in Montreal a lot this fall, where I'm the Mordecai Richler Writer In Residence at Concordia U., and looking at domestic architecture here in my hometown.

1949 GMC panel
from Colin Washburn in the Eastern Sierra: "Seen at TOM'S PLACE, north of Bishop CA, east slope of the Sierra Nevada. Rather ugly -- yet somehow rather cool...spotted and laquered over patina, like some sort of Appaloosa GMC."

Chill 1968 MGBGT from NS in NDG
That duplex is the standard vernacular housing in Montreal's Notre Dame de Grace neighborhood.
I think the last time we caught one of these cars was in NL. And that one was snowy too.
Happy Turkey!
