The 1971 Saab wagon (with tailfins)

Why did Saab pack it in? Those cars were popular in New England starting in the late Sixties. There used to be a bunch of Saab-only mechanics here in Maine. Renowned winter machines. Quirky but solid.  This sprightly wagon, racing stripe, tail fins and all,  is in CM's collection in Alpine, Texas. It has a 1700 cc V4 produced by Ford in Germany.
