Eagle Nest, New Mexico, 2012. “People like to drive because driving is actually and symbolically an almost perfect mechanism for escape…there is probably no human being who does not have troubles, real or imagined, from which he at times feels the need to flee.” George R. Stewart.

I'm guessing at the age of this truck. It's one of Dave Jones' collection near Sprague, Washington. Jonathan Sachs photo.

Absolutely Standard Nijmegen

Nijmegen street. Vernacular. Terraced houses. My guess, early 20th c. Very Dutch, very ordinary, very pleasing and effective.

No Fear: Dutch Architecture

Some of the Dutch architecture of the last couple of decades is excellent, some of it isn't.  But most of it is bold. These buildings are on the campus of Radboud University in Nijmegen. For contrast: the Nijemegan stadtshaus, originally 17th century.
reconstructed mid-19th.

Renault 4 La "Quatrelle"

Looks like ex- French post office.  I think it's tough to get older vehicles registered in France...so some of them end up in The Netherlands.
