New Year Peacocks & the Ford F-250 at Valerie & Don's Ranch, Marfa

These birds have no respect for great old trucks. Happy motoring and best wishes for a great 2014!

1967 Bronco for sale in The Springs

from Michael S Moore, in Colorado:
"[Perhaps] 1967 Bronco available for sale...
[obviously seeking only local offers unless you know the area code for Colorado Springs]
...back in '67 i wasn't even aware that such things existed, being [temporarily] carless in L.A. and oblivious throughout.

Then, of course, the road home...may yours be as open...

Any more on the Royal Meteor?  It's flummoxed my best truck guy, but I still nominate it..."-MSM

1928? Diamond Reo? on the road in West Texas

Pat Rogers got the Texas Gypsy going by hooking up an Optima battery with a booster pack and disconnecting the fuel line then hooking it up, via an electric pump, to fresh fuel in a plastic tank. Pat's 1964 VW was our support vehicle. The Gypsy started with a rumble; the big-block Chevy sounded good. Put on an LP and set off through Alpine, Texas, me riding shotgun while holding onto the plastic fuel jug which was (sort of) mounted on the passenger-side mirror frame. We're still trying to ID this truck. The title says " 1928 Meteor". "Meteor" is stamped on the hubs but Meteor may have been a wheel manufacturer, nothing else. Can;t find Meteor trucks. There's a piece on the hood that says "Royal" but I don't think that's original. Check the last post. Any guesses?

John Lennox's 1951 Mercury

I saw this car in a friend's collection in Alpine, Texas. It is pretty much the car--even to the color-- that John Lennox bought for his family in Cleveland, Ohio in 1953. Original paint, and 24k original miles. original (unused) spare tire.

David's Jeep. Marfa, Christmas Day.

BB has also been shooting Marfa while we're here. Coming out of Maine at this time of year, we're both responding to the generous West Texas desert light.

Dodge Power Wagon, Massachusetts

from photographer Jarrod McCabe.
"Clementine skipped a tooth on her timing chain and I saw this beefy machine at my mechanic yesterday when I was picking her up. disaster barely averted. C got a new distributor too and is running smoother than ever.  Wouldn't mind taking this dodge out for a spin. looks like a hauler. My mechanic : vintage motorsports in holliston. all vintage all the time.
I'll do my best keep an eye out for you this winter."--JM
